SMM or targeted ads: which does your business need?
Both work on social media but solve different problems. Here is how to decide where to start.
Many businesses think SMM and targeted ads are the same thing. In fact they do different jobs and complement each other.
What SMM does
SMM means running your page: content, visual style and conversations with customers. It builds trust and tells a visitor "this is a place you can buy from".
What targeted ads do
Targeted ads put your page and offers in front of a precise paid audience. They bring new people and deliver results quickly.
Where to start
- If your page is empty or messy, start with basic packaging: bio, highlights and 9–12 strong posts.
- If the page is ready but new customers are few, run targeted ads.
- If you have both and results are weak, get an audit: the problem may be the offer, the page or the sales process.
Why they work best together
Ads bring traffic and the page converts it into customers. When strong ads lead to a weak page, most of the budget is wasted.
